The conservative candidate Joe Robertson has won the new Isle of Wight constituency becoming its first ever MP. Joe managed to see off a challenge from the Greens, Labour and Reform by winning with a majority of 3,323. The declaration came at 4.35 am on Friday morning. Joe said,
I am delighted and honoured to have been elected as the first ever MP for Isle of Wight East. It is an absolute privilege to represent my home in Parliament. My heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed my campaign, in particular my campaign coordinator Suzie Ellis and election agent Ed Blake. I look forward to getting to work on behalf of all residents and working with the newly elected MP for West Wight. I wish to extend my thanks to Bob Seely for his years of service to the Island.
